Once again Palace's under-18 side found themselves in another thrilling game as they held on to clinch a 4-3 win against Millwall.
The Eagles raced into the lead by scoring three times in the opening 17 minutes, with the deadlock broken on 14 minutes when Lewis Bryon nodded in a free-kick, and then two minutes later Francis Jno Baptiste was celebrating when he turned home a rebound after Joseph Hungbo had seen a shot blocked.
A minute later and Paddy McCarthy's side found themselves in firm control when Hungbo, playing in a new number 10 position, turned in a cutback by Bryce Hosannah, but just as it looked as though the Eagles would cruise into half-time three goals ahead, they were pegged back when Kyle Lynch was adjudged to have brought down a Lions player and they tucked away the resulting spot-kick.
However on 68 minutes it looked to be game over again when Palace were gifted a penalty of their own when James Daly was fouled and Andrew Demby made no mistake from 12 yards, but once again Millwall would get a glimmer of hope with 10 minutes to go when they netted with a decent finish.
And with two minutes remaining they dispatched a free-kick from just outside the box past Oliver Webber to create a nervy ending, but McCarthy's boys held on to claim a second 4-3 success in the space of a month.
