Alan Pardew has provided an update on the injuries within the Palace squad, revealing that winger Bakary Sako is nearing a return to the first team set up, whilst others - like Jason Puncheon and James McArthur - are still some way off.
Sako has had an injury-plagued winter after starting his career at Palace in exciting form. His absence from the squad has been a big blow, particularly given the injury to Yannick Bolasie around the same time.
"He's close [to returning], whether I'll involve him this weekend I'm not sure," Pardew said of Sako.
"He's travelling with us this week, which we're pleased about. He'll play some part in the week's action, because we've got three games."
"Punch? No. It'll be a couple more weeks for him," he added, when asked about Jason Puncheon's return from the sidelines.
"[McArthur's recovery has been] slow, because he suffered a bad injury," the manager continued. "But James McArthur is a quick healer, so we'll be looking forward to having him back. I can't give you a date on that."
