After six months as the academy's under-18s manager, Des Bulpin has left the club to join Millwall as their new first-team coach.

Bulpin will link up once again with former Eagles manager Ian Holloway at The Den as he begins to pull together his new backroom team in Bermondsey.

The experienced coach has had stints at Bristol City and Bristol Rovers and worked under current Palace coach Gerry Francis at both Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur before ending up at Stockport County. The 62-year-old has also taken up various jobs abroad before arriving in SE25 to take charge of the academy side in the summer.

Academy Director Gary Issott said: “We’re sorry to lose Des and thank him for his time here and his efforts in helping the lads in the under-18s' development. From all of us at the academy, we wish him the best in his career going forward.”
