Fraizer Campbell hit his first hat-trick in a Palace shirt and left the crowd of just over 1000 in no doubt of the outcome at The New Lawn against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.
The Palace squad that travelled to Gloucestershire included a number of senior members of Tony Pulis' squad and also included central defender Brede Hangeland, signed only on Friday.
Campbell didn't waste much time getting on the scoresheet as he put the visitors ahead after just eight minutes in Palace's first attack of the afternoon.
He doubled his side's advantage as he got on the end of a through ball from Barry Bannan leaving the striker to show his class as he slotted the ball home past 'keeper Sam Russell
Just on the half hour mark the new signing completed his hat-trick as he powerfully headed home a corner at the far post.
Despite some second half chances for the visitors there were no further goals and Campbell's three were the goals that settled the game against Rovers.
