Jonny Williams was pleased to be home, having returned early from his loan spell at Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The Wales international was recalled from the City Ground at the start of the month, cutting his loan spell short by over two weeks, with the 22-year-old joining the action at Palace straight away, coming on as a substitute in the home defeat to Chelsea.
"It was a special moment for me, I hadn't played for Palace in about 16-18 months," said the creative midfielder. "I was delighted to get back out there, it's been a long time.
"I can't thank the fans enough for their support, even when I was out on loan," he added.
Williams has been given an opportunity to break into Alan Pardew's plans, given the number of injuries currently ravaging the Eagles' first team.
"The manager told me we have a lot of injuries and wished me luck over the next month," he said. "We'll see what happens. If I get an opportunity hopefully I can do well and impress him and stay involved.
"That's my aim," he added. "I'll do my best. [I'm] red and blue, so it's nice to be home."
