Palace’s players out on loan are experiencing mixed fortunes since making first appearances at their respective new clubs, with development defender Ryan Inniss scoring with his first touch for Luton Town while Jimmy Kebe has had difficulty adapting to life in the Championship with Leeds United.
A clutch of Eagles players have moved during this transfer window to gain valuable game time further down the footballing pyramid, and Inniss made an instant impression. The defender scored in the fourth minute for the Hatters in an FA Trophy tie against fellow promotion chasers Cambridge United on Saturday.
The powerful header helped his new side gain a 2-0 lead which Cambridge eventually clawed back to share the spoils and clinch the replay 1-0, however the 18-year-old looks to have settled in to his new surroundings quickly.
Kebe’s debut was less successful however, as he was part of the Leeds side that shipped six away at Sheffield Wednesday and couldn't make an impact as Brian McDermott’s side sit in mid-table. He’s joined by fellow Eagles player Peter Ramage in the Championship whose season-long-loan at Oakwell has seen him appear 13 times for his new club so far this term.
Non-league Sutton United took both Alex Wynter and goalkeeper David Gregory for a month and they made their debuts in a 2-0 away win at Chelmsford City last weekend, while Jerome Williams made a live television appearance for Forest Green Rovers in their 1-1 draw against Hereford on last Thursday.
Development goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons has turned out five times for non-league Hendon since marking with his debut with a clean sheet against Cray Wanderers, while young forward Derek Tieku is furthering his career at Hayes and Yeading and made his debut in a loss in Concord Rangers.
