Palace attacker Glenn Murray has signed for Championship side Reading on loan until January.
The 31-year-old has been snapped up by Nigel Atkins to bolster his goalscoring firepower as he aims to take the Royals back to the Premier League, having won twice and drawn once in their opening five Championship games.
Murray arrived at Selhurst Park in 2011 on a free transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion and hit seven goals in his debut season, but the following campaign would be much more fruitful for Murray, who finished the year as the Championship's top goalscorer with 30 goals as he helped fire Palace to the play-offs.
A serious knee injury against his former club cruelly ended his participation in Palace's promotion bid but he return the following February to make his Premier League debut against West Bromwich Albion, and netted his maiden top-flight goal against Swansea City from the penalty spot.
That was the most recent of his 39 goals for the Eagles, which have come in 106 appearances including a substitute appearance on Saturday in the 3-3 draw with Newcastle United.
