Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Stephen Dobbie from Brighton and Hove Albion on an initial emergency loan with a view to a permanent transfer on 1st July 2013.

The 30 year old Scottish striker has passed a medical and links up with Ian Holloway once again having played under him during two loan spells at Blackpool during 2010 and 2012, and helped the Seasiders reach the Championship play-off final on both occasions, the latter of which saw him partner fellow Palace new-boy Kevin Phillips up front.

Dobbie has also won promotion to the Premier League with Swansea City in 2011, but swapped south Wales for the south coast last summer and has since made 16 appearances for Brighton, scoring two goals.

He said: "I know Ian really well and I'd heard there was a little bit of interest and when that became concrete there was no doubt in my mind to come and play for him.

"I've played for him twice at Blackpool and he gets players playing for him, and he's a great man and a motivator, and I just enjoyed working with him every day."

You can see the whole interview with Stephen on Palace Player from Friday morning.
