International football came to Selhurst Park tonight but Palace comfortably saw off the challenge of Oman thanks to well-taken goals from Stephen Dobbie and Kyle De Silva to chalk up a decent friendly win for the Eagles.

Several fringe members of Ian Holloway's squad got useful minutes in the bank to keep up their match sharpness but their opponents from the Gulf kept the home side at bay for nearly 70 minutes before fitness came to the fore.

Palace began brightly and created a couple of very early chances, but Aaron Wilbraham couldn't keep a bending effort down after being found by Quade Taylor and Cameron Jerome forced Muhanad Al-Zaabi into a save when he raced through on goal.

The deadline day signing from Stoke City came close again midway through the first-half when a long ball over the top was flicked on into his path by Wilbraham, and the striker attempted to lash it first-time into the net but saw the chance fizz over the top.

Wilbraham went close just before the interval when Al-Zaabi slipped in front of goal and the striker rounded the keeper before firing towards the target but Abdullsalam Al-Mukhaini got back in time to scramble the ball off the line to keep the opening half scoreless.

The Eagles had dominated the first 45 minutes but couldn't quite find the opener but came even closer when, after some head-tennis between Wilbraham and Jerome, the ball was controlled by Dobbie who thumped a strike towards goal but saw it smack back off the crossbar.

However the Scottish midfielder wasn't to be denied and finally found the breakthrough on 69 minutes. Taking the ball down from a throw-in on the right, he dummied a defender before coolly tucking the ball into the bottom corner to single-handedly give his side the lead.

And having finally broken down their opponents, Palace soon doubled their lead six minutes later when Owen Garvan's raking ball found Wilbraham inside the box, and he laid the ball off to De Silva who sweetly curled the ball around the despairing dive of Al-Zaabi to seal the victory.
