He has made a couple of appearances this season and during his career at Ewood Park he has scored five goals in 26 appearances.

Dougie Freedman was delighted to see the Scot move south. "This is a fantastic bit of business for this club on deadline day. I have been tracking his progress for some time and missed out on getting him last season but it is great that he is now part of our squad. His quality will help strengthen our squad and look forward to working with him now we have have been able to get him into the club through until the new year."

He has signed in time to be available for selection against Sheffield Wednesday and is named in the squad for the game.

Also late on deadline day midfielder Andy Dorman has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
