Crystal Palace U18s 1-4 West Ham U18s

Posted on: Fri 24 Apr 2009

Crystal Palace Under 18s succumbed to their fourth defeat in a row on Saturday to West Ham Under 18s.

The east Londoners took the lead as early as the fifth minute when a neat passing move was expertly finished off by Holmar Orn Eyjolfsson, who chipped Kieran Thorp from the edge of the area.

A period of sustained pressure followed from the Hammers but they failed to find a breakthrough, leaving Palace with the chance to equalise in the 30th minute.

Jamie Smith played Kieron Cadogan through with an excellent ball and the forward beat the keeper to it and finished well.

But the lead lasted only a few short minutes as a cross from the left was headed home by their centre forward to give them the half time lead, which was extended five minutes into the second half by the same player.

Palace failed to clear their lines from a free-kick and the ball was dispatched from ten yards.
