Chairman's Statement

Posted on: Wed 01 Jul 2009

With respect to the rumours that have appeared in certain sections of the media regarding payments of players bonus payments and wages we can bring you the accurate facts of the situation.

Chairman Simon Jordan, talking to the club's official website said "Neil Warnock and the players were informed some weeks ago that the bonus payments would be paid at the end of July this year and there were no issues with that and neither should there have been.

"The bonus payments are paid annually at my discretion in either June or July and this year they will be paid in July.

"The players wages for the month of June have been split in the normal way at this time of the year. Those members of our playing staff who are staying have been paid in the normal way and those that are leaving will be paid by cheque. This method is used for our own administrative reasons and makes good business sense from my point of view.

" The story is nothing more sinister than that and even though we are aware there are a few errant individuals running around trying to cause problems we can confirm that the facts above are correct.

"Every player that has played under the Chairmanship of Simon Jordan has always been paid and that will always remain the case."
