Palace Race Day A Success

Posted on: Fri 04 Sep 2009

Set against the stunning backdrop of Surrey's sprawling countryside, Lingfield Race Course welcomed Crystal Palace players, management and sponsors for a day of first class hospitality and horse racing in aid of the Crystal Palace Youth Academy.

Guests arrived mid-morning and were shown to their tables in two private locations situated away from the busy main stand where the general public enjoy their afternoon.

Crystal Palace players and management turned up soon after to meet the guests and sat down to enjoy a fine three course meal.

Each location was also provided with a private tote area so that guests and players could place their bets without having to endure the long queues in the main stand.

The racing continued through the afternoon and Palace skipper Shaun Derry drew the raffle tickets for prizes that included a signed first team home shirt and an Executive Box for the home game against Derby on the 19th Sept.

We thank, as always the staff and management of Lingfield Park for their support in hosting this event and to all the Race Sponsors on the day:- Ashford Environmental , Baker Tilly, Tag Worldwide, Arrows Removals and GP Design.

Crystal Palace Chief Executive, Phil Alexander spoke to www.cpfc.co.uk about the day:

"The race days are always enjoyable and I would like to thank everybody that came along. We are already planning our next race day early in the new year . Watch out for details."
