Warnock "We Should Have Been 4-0 Up"
Neil Warnock was disappointed to be going in at the break behind after his side had dominated periods of the first half. Chances came and went as the home side ended up taking all the points.
"We should have been 4-0 up before they scored. We hit the post three times in the first half and missed an even better chance than any of those but I was disappointed with the way we lost in the second half.
"The way we played after the interval told me a lot about my players - some good and some bad."
Plans are already in place for what is needed for next season and the boss is looking forward to the challenge.
"We know we are not good enough at the moment but have been hanging in there in recent weeks. We know the type of players we need and hopefully we can get some of those that we want. It's a great challenge for me. We haven't got much money to spend but the chairman is very supportive and it could be interesting next season."
"We had a good number of fans up here and they have been fantastic all season. They have stuck with me and have not given me stick and they know we are in a difficult period. They trust me and that's what they have gotta to do really because I am the best one to take us higher next year. We need to get four or five players in and I know the younger lads can continue to do well for us. Even in my disappointment I know we have promise in areas of our squad."
The boss was a visitor to the Keepmoat when he lived in Yorkshire and has admiration for the club who have maintained their Championship status.
"You have to give some credit to Doncaster. It's a fantastic achievement for them to come new into the league and finish around mid-table when they were bottom at one stage. They are a lovely club and have some lovely fans."
