Hart : Performance Was Excellent

Posted on: Sat 06 Mar 2010

Match one of Paul Hart's reign finished with a valueable three points and Alan Lee's first half goal was the perfect end to his week.

"From the moment I came in I could see they were a strong bunch and today they went out and proved it. I was delighted for the side and their performance was excellent .

"Whenever you play Sheffield United you know you have been in a game and you have to do the basics and we did that. We also knew we had to play some decent stuff, which we did.  All over the pitch we had to do what was necessary and got ourselves the three points.

"Their set pieces are always a threat and we did well defending against them."

The first home league win in four needed stand out performances and that is exactly what the new boss got from his team.

"There were some good performances across the team, Nick Carle did well in the middle and it is the first time I have worked with Shaun Derry but he is real captain and has been great this week.

"I have had three days working with the lads but I haven't come in and attempted to make big changes. There doesn't need to be major changes as that would be foolhardy but we are here until May 2nd and have a job to do to keep this club in the division. There will be some ups and downs because it is hard when you are down where we are.

"We must stay strong and work hard and I know it is difficult to win games but i is also the best end to a week when you do."
