Paul Hart says that both Crystal Palace and QPR have more to worry about, in terms of league position, than outside distractions.
Saturday's game will see the return of Neil Warnock to Selhurst Park since his departure five weeks ago, but the new Palace manager is focusing on three points and not the interest surrounding his predecessor's return.
"[It is a] Big game, but I am not concerning myself with anything other than the three points that are required by what looks like both teams." he told www.cpfc.co.uk
"If QPR don't win then they will be right in the mix and if we win then we give ourselves a massive chance of staying up. So in terms of the game that is where it is. We know what we want and what it means to us."
Rangers come into the weekend's match looking for their first win in seven games. With Palace now unbeaten in three the form book suggests a home win, but Hart is not being complacent about the challenge that faces his side on Saturday.
"I think any side in the Championshop at this stage in the season that is either fighting for the top or the bottom are going to be tough games, so I don't see this as being any different."
A win on Saturday would mean that Palace would leap frog QPR in the Championship table and drag the west London outfit further into a relegation scrap, which is exactly the scenario Hart wants to see happen.
"Well I hope so and part of our job is to make that happen," is his reply when posed with the possibility of going above QPR.
"I have said all along that the teams who keep their nerve are the teams that succeed in a relegation fight."
As for team news, Hart revealed that there will be some late fitness tests for Danny Butterfield and Claude Davis, but Alan Lee should return to the squad.
"Danny Butterfield has made good progress and we will check his reaction to his training and see if it is good enough.
"Clyne is back in training but again we will have to assess it. Claude is not too bad. He has got an ongoing programme and Alan should be okay."
