Hart : Unlucky Not To Win

Posted on: Sat 17 Apr 2010

Paul Hart was disappointed with the way his side conceded the early goal but was pleased with their reaction after the break.

"I can't understand conceding from a set piece again because thats now two in a week, we are normally so good at defending them.  It was probably a game of two halves, we were off the boil in the first half and we had to regroup quickly at half-time. But on the strength of our performance in the second half, I thought we were unlucky not to win."

Stern John was the man who got the goal for his side to take a point at Pride Park and the boss always knew he would play some part in the game.

"We have two centre-forwards injured and Stern is not getting any younger. We are walking on egg shells with our forwards at the minute. Stern was an option to start but I chose not to use it. The better option was for him to come on.

"I have no regrets at not starting him, it was the right decision on the day to start with what we had got."

Many fans made their way up the M1 to back their boys and very much made themselves heard which came as no surprise to the boss and he knows they will be there in the final couple of games.

"Our support was magnificient again today and in the second half we provided them with a performance. It's difficult but we are giving ourselves a chance and two games to go means six points to play for. There are also big games for teams around us so it's going to be an interesting couple of weeks in this league."
