Palace continued the holiday programme with a trip down the M4 and three changes to the starting line up following the victory over Ipswich Town.
Claude Davis missed out through suspension so Clint Hill moved to centre half and Lee Hills came in at left back while Johannes Ertl was named ahead of Freddie Sears and Calvin Andrew started in place of Alan Lee.
Swansea went into the game with one defeat in their last five and sitting in sixth place, good progress at the half way stage under Paulo Sousa in his first season.
The home side enjoyed the best of the early exchanges and were close to making the breakthrough as a shot from distance by Gorka Pintado on seven minutes struck the woodwork as the final bounce appeared to beat Julian Speroni.
It was not long though before Swansea were a man down as the referee dismissed the last defender, Albert Serran, when he pulled back Neil Danns as midfielder tried to get on the end of a through ball by Darren Ambrose. The second game in a row that the visitors have enjoyed the numercial advantage courtesy of the match official's decision.
The goalmouth chances were few and far between at either end as the half went on with the best two from the visitors seeing a 31st minute shot going over the bar from Ambrose and then a free kick from the same player headed just wide by Hill from close range.
The half came to its conclusion with neither team able to break the deadlock and Palace holding the advantage on the number count only.
The second half started with a shout by the home contingent for a penalty but the referee gave a free kick just outside the box for a foul by Hill on Gorka Pintado. Both players were cautioned, the defender for the foul and Pintado because he was making gesture towards the official that he should do exactly that to Hill. Thomas Butler took the free kick but nothing came of the set piece and it was gathered low down by Speroni.

As the half went on Palace came more into the game with Victor Moses and Danns both having shots at the Swans goal and substitute Alan Lee heading wide from a Moses cross minutes after replacing Andrew.
A further change saw Freddie Sears come on to replace Moses.

He was soon involved on 70 minutes when he was in space to turn in the box and shoot just wide of Dorus De Vries left hand post.
With eight minutes remaining he was in front of goal again but he saw his shot saved by de Vries and just a minute later made his way into the box to collect a ball from Lee but the keeper came out and dived to smother another effort from the on loan striker.
The home side could also have had the advantage as Orlandi broke through but his chance from inside the box was saved by Speroni.
Two more late chances for the visitors as Sears was once again denied by de Vries and then Etrl saw a left footed shot from just outside the box drop just over the wrongside of the bar.
Five minutes of added time saw a late chance falling to Gary Monk but his header towards goal wasn't to make the difference and Palace take a point from the game and maintain their unbeaten record at this stadium.
