Eagles Net Lions Defender

Posted on: Thu 28 Jun 2007

Crystal Palace FC have completed the signing of defender Tony Craig from Millwall, with the player moving to Selhurst Park for an undisclosed fee on Wednesday morning.

The 22-year-old left-back has signed a three year contract with the Eagles and will begin pre-season training with his new team-mates next week.

Craig began his career with Millwall after coming through the youth ranks at the New Den and he made his debut in the final few weeks of the 2002/03 season at the age of just 18, before scoring his first goal for the Lions in only his second senior appearance.

He has since gone on to establish himself as a first team regular and has made over 80 appearances for the club, culminating in successive 'Young Player Of The Season' awards over the last two years.

The Greenwich-born player now joins former Den team-mates Matt Lawrence, Darren Ward and Paul Ifill in SE25 and will be looking forward to getting re-acquainted with life in the Championship.
