At the testimonial match Dougie is looking to bring many former Palace players back to Selhurst for this special night and they will be introduced to the crowd at half time. More details on this as and when it becomes available.

Freedman is delighted to be having this special match to mark his service at the club. " This an achievement in my career that I have been looking forward to and would like to thank the Chairman for his help in making the event possible.  I want to thank the fans for what they have done for me. Not many players have disappointing games for their club and get applauded off the field but that has happened many a time to me.  I will never forget how special they have been to me".

The striker is delighted to be welcoming opposition from the top flight to Selhurst for the game at the end of May. " Neil Warnock was very keen that this match was an important part of our pre-season programme and so it was key to get the right type of opposition and Fulham coming across London fits the bill. It will be a good test as we look to aspire to be a Premiership team as soon as possible".

Dougie watched the end of season play-off drama from afar as he was on loan at Leeds but was not surprised that his fellow team mates gave it a great effort in the 2nd leg. " When we got beat at home in the first leg against Bristol City I knew what we had and how the manager would get the best out of the boys on the night and after taking the lead we were a penalty kick away from moving onto the next stage. The defeat didn't come due to a lack of skill or effort but probably unlucky on the night".

The Scot was himself involved in the end of season play-offs but missed out at Wembley although was pleased with his contribution for the Yorkshire side. " I came to the stage where I had to ask myself whether I wanted to continue playing and the move to Leeds gave me that challenge. I wanted to prove to myself that I could still do it and was pleased to score six goals whilst on loan".

Following that loan period his attention now turns to his Palace future. "I have another year on my contract and will be back for pre-season when I will be having a meeting with the Manager to hear his thinking on the situation. My view is that I want to fight my way back in the team and have proved that I can still score goals and perform. The manager knows what I am capable of and we will wait now for the meeting".
