Charity Celeb/Palace Legends This Weekend
This Sunday Selhurst Park Stadium plays host to a Charity Match which is in support of Crystal Palace Community Trust's Give the Red Card to Knife Crime campaign, and is a Palace Legends XI against a Celebrity XI. The match kicks-off at 1pm.
The match is the showpiece event to the campaign and many names from the club's past and stars of tv, stage and screen will be arriving in SE25.
Actor Danny Dyer is just one of the latest names to be added to the list of celebrities for the big charity match this coming weekend. The star of Football Factory and Severance will be appearing here for the match. He will be joined by former X factor contestant Austin Drage for an afternoon's football you will not want to miss.
The legends team will include Eric Young, Dougie Freedman, Marc Edworthy, Alex Dyer, Bruce Dyer, Danny Granville, Wayne Routledge, Neil Shipperley, Simon Osborn, Nigel Martyn, Peter Taylor, Geoff Thomas, Chris Powell, Richard Shaw, Alan Pardew,Vince Hilaire and JIm Cannon.

Neville Southall - One of the greatest goal keepers of all time, there aren't many who have reached the heights of 'Big Nev's' achievements in football; twice an FA Cup winner, one European Cup Winners Cup medal and 578 appearances for Everton in a career that spanned over 700 games, Southall's record speaks for itself. That's not to mention 92 caps for Wales in a fifteen year international career.
Ralf Little - Ralf rose to fame as Anthony in the Royle Family and hasn't looked back since. Star of the hugely popular BBC comedy Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Ralf is currently starring in BBC 3's new sitcom Massive. No stranger to the big screen Ralf starred as Peter Hook in 24 Hour Party People and alongside Ann Marie Duff in 2008's The Waiting Room. Multi talented Little has also co written an online novel, The Golden Generation, and received an Olivier Award for his role in Notes on Falling Leaves at the Royal Court Theatre.
Spoony - Spoony's career started on leading Pirate radio station London Underground before joining Kiss 100, where he became a member of the Dreem Teem with Mikee B and Timmi Magic. In 2006 Spoony moved to BBC Radio Five Live presenting 6-0-6.Also that year he took part in the fourth series of Strictly Come Dancing competing with Ola Jordan. A big golf fan, Spoony has played several times in the Gary Player Invitational charity golf series to raise funds for children around the world.
Nicky Summerbee - Summerbee made 112 appearances at Swindon and scored six goals before Manchester City paid £1.3m for his services in 1994. Nicky played over 130 games for City before switching to Sunderland where he enjoyed the pinnacle of his career, Summerbee made his Sunderland debut against Portsmouth in 1997 which he capped by notching the final goal in a 4-1 victory, scoring with a satisfying low drive. Summerbee enjoyed some of the finest moments of his career after Sunderland won promotion to the Premiership in 1999, and become an exceptionally under-valued player. Statistics showed him to be a better crosser of the ball than David Beckham, with a crossing accuracy of 36% to Beckham's 27. As well as crossing, his shooting abilities outshone those of Beckham's, by 53% to 48.
Ant Genn - Antony Genn is lead singer and founding member of the Hours and a former member of Pulp and Elastica. Championed by the likes of Zane Lowe and Jarvis Cocker, artist Damien Hirst is currently producing the bands artwork. A life-long Sheffield United fan, Ant was also in the Mescaleros with Joe Strummer and the pair made up the song-writing partnership of the group.
Steve Lomas - Lomas first made his name with Manchester City in the 1990s notching up over 100 appearances before West Ham signed the Northern Ireland international. Originally signed as cover for John Moncur and Frank Lampard Lomas went on to prove himself an integral part of the first team and an inspirational captain. He moved to Upton Park in March 1997 and was voted runner-up in the fans' Hammer of the year competition in the 97/98 season. It would not be the first time his attitude and commitment - always an example to his colleagues - would win praise.
Dean Holdworth - Holdsworth played for a number of clubs, most notably Wimbledon, where he was a member of the infamous Crazy Gang alongside Vinnie Jones, John Fashanu and Dennis Wise, and Bolton Wanderers for whom he was, at the time, their record signing. When there he made 97 league appearances and scored 39 times. Before this he was at Brentford where he was to prove himself as a prolific goalscorer, scoring 38 goals in the Third Division championship winning season of 1991-92. This proved to be his final season with the club, as his exploits led to much interest from higher level clubs and he signed for Wimbledon in the summer of 1992.
Mark Stein - Mark played at a number of clubs during an illustrious career including 51 games for Chelsea after joining from Stoke where he made 89 appearances and scored 51 goals. He notched up 21 at Chelsea and set a Premier League record by scoring in seven consecutive games, the record stood until 2002 when Ruud Van Nistleroy surpassed it.
Gordon Smart - Gordon Smart edits the Sun's famous Bizarre showbiz column making him one the most influential faces in the world of celebrity. A champion of young British music talent as well and an exposer of celebrities faux pas he is as popular among the subjects he writes about as he is with his readers.
Dale Howard - Dale Howard is a student and a physical education trainee teacher from St Helens, Merseyside who appeared in series nine of Big Brother. On Sunday 20 July, he succeeded Darnell as the second Head of House after his success in a task that took place to compete for the title. Dale became the eighth housemate to be evicted on Day 65.
Ray Panthaki - Panthaki is best known for the roles he played as Ronnie Ferreira in EastEnders and as Hassan B in Ali G in Ali G Indahouse. He also appeared in the hit British films 28 Days Later, Ali G, Tube Tales, Bollywood Queen, and the 2006 cult box office hit Kidulthood which he also produced. In 2006 he was nominated for "Best Actor in a Play" at the TMA Theatre Awards for his role in Gladiator Games, which was based on the highly-publicised true story of teenager Zahid Mubarek. In 2008 Panthaki starred in City Rats alongside Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan and made his West End debut at the Trafalgar Studios in In My Name.
Ben Adams - Ben Adams was a member of four-piece boyband A1, who won a BRIT Award in 2003 for Best Newcomer and had two number one singles, Take On Me and Same Old Brand New You, before separating. After the band split Ben began writing and producing for other artists and has his own recording studio situated in Battersea Park. More recently Ben has been working on songs for X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and was a participant on Celebrity Big Brother 2009, reaching the finale and finishing in fifth place.
Mark Prince - Mark Prince is a former Light-Heavyweight boxer that lost only once in his 20 fight career with 15 of his 19 wins coming by way of Knock Out. Since the murder of his son Kiyan in May 2006 Mark has campaigned tirelessly against the gang and gun and knife culture in Britain.
Bianca Gascoigne - In 2006 model and television presenter Bianca won ITV's reality TV show, Love Island and followed this with appearances on the front cover of Loaded magazine and in January 2007 (and August 2008), the cover of Nuts magazine. She has also been featured in Maxim, FHM magazine, Zoo Weekly and numerous tabloid newspapers. In July 2008, she competed against glamour model, Danielle Lloyd, on the TV show Gladiators in a celebrity special, which she went on to win, supporting a charity for domestic violence. She has also presented Big Brother's Big Mouth.
Bad Lashes - Bad Lashes are a four-piece girl band from North East England, made up of Emily McNamee from Newcastle upon Tyne, Sophie Wilson , from Hartlepool, Samantha Bennett from Durham, and Stacey Lincoln also from Durham. They appeared on the 2008 series of X Factor reaching the Live Final stages,
Crystal Palace are delighted to announce that Premier League official Stuart Attwell has agreed to referee the match.
Attwell, the Premier League's youngest ever referee, rose to notoriety at the beginning of the 2007/08 season when the decision was made to promote him from the NIC Nuneaton Sunday League to the Football League. He quickly established himself in the League football circuit, with some excellent performances leading to the decision to announce him as the referee for the League Two play off final.
He then made further headlines at the beginning of this season when he was promoted to the Premier League at the tender age of just 25 years old. So far he has officiated four Premier League matches, including Blackburn vs Hull and Portsmouth vs Fulham.
