Our Assistant Manager Mick Jones is hoping for your help as he works hard during the summer raising money for a charity which is helping women diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Eagles number two has come up with a way of raising money for HER (Hull and East Riding) Breast Friends, Jones has tapped into his vast footballing network to get signed shirts off some of the biggest clubs in the country - Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham, Sunderland, Hull and Stoke - which are going to be auctioned to the highest bidder.

Jones explained: "Towards the end of the 2007-08 season we stayed in a hotel up in Hull and the following day the place was packed with women walking around in pink t-shirts. "We were aware something was happening and it was their annual day at the hotel where they treat cancer patients and people being affected by it to a free pamper day giving them complimentary beauty therapies.

"I got talking to some of them and they asked if they could get a signed Crystal Palace shirt for their charity and I said 'yeah' - I got the lads to sign it and then sent it on to the girls in Hull.

"I've had three family members who have died of cancer and my youngest brother was the hardest to take.

"It got me thinking that I could do a bit more.

"I've been in the game since 1963, I've never really been out of it, and I've built up a lot of contacts. I decided to get in touch with everyone I knew - and some I didn't - to see if they would donate a signed shirt to HER Breast Friends. The response has been fantastic."
