Moses Joins Wigan

Posted on: Mon 01 Feb 2010

Crystal Palace can announce that Victor Moses has joined Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The striker has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League side after passing a medical this morning at the DW Stadium.

Moses has been subject to intense speculation over the past year after establishing himself as one of the hottest prospects outside the Premier League.

Brought through the Crystal Palace Academy, he made his debut for Palace in November 2007 aged just 16 when he replaced John Bostock after 72 minutes.

He scored his first of eleven goals for the club nine games later in the 1-1 draw at West Brom and went on to score two more that season.

Last season he enjoyed an extended run of games playing 27 times and scoring twice, but it has been this season that Victor strengthened his growing reputation with a string of match winning performances.

His two goals away at Reading were both of the highest quality, while his overhead kick against Barnsley deserved all the plaudits it received and was actually chosen as Crystal Palace's nomination for the Mitre Goal of the Year 2009.

In January his performances in December were recognised with the first ever Coca Cola Football League Young Player of the Month Award.

He leaves Palace with 69 first team appearances and eleven goals to his name in those games.

Palace Player will have an exclusive interview with Victor later today looking back at his most memorable Crystal Palace moments.
