After last week's proposed match against Hull City in the FA Youth Cup Fifth Round was postponed due to a frozen pitch, Academy coach Gary Issott is hoping his team can put that set-back behind them and put in a good performance in the cup.
"It was dissappointing last week for us to travel all the way up to Hull the day before and then find out on the day of the match that the game had been cancelled, but sometimes these things are just not meant to be.
"We travelled up again on Wednesday (yesterday) ahead of tonight's game and have followed the same itinarary that we did last time to ensure the preparation is as good as it can be."
Hull City over came Stoke City two nil in the last round of the FA Youth Cup and they are a side that Gary Issott believes will be a challenge come 7pm tonight when they face the Tigers at Church Road.
"I went up to watch Hull play Stoke in the last round and they are a very good team and have good players all over the park. I think our lads will be in for a real test tonight when they take on a Hull side who are in the Premiership. They play an attractive style of football and we will have to be at our best to match them in every department."
With Hull manager Phil Brown expected to be in attendance for the encounter, which will see the winners face Newcastle United at St Jame's Park, Issott is all to aware of how home advantage can be crucial in one-off games like this.
"I hope the occassion does not get to our lads but Hull will definitely be the most relaxed out of the two sides as they have not had to travel anywhere or change their normal routine.
"Plus they will have their first team manager in attendance and they will want to put on a real show in front of him and also their family and friends. Im sure it will be a good match and all I can ask for is for my players is to try their best."
