The Football League has announced the full shortlists for 12 awards at the 2010 Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players, with the winners set to be announced at a gala ceremony at Grosvenor House on Park Lane on Sunday 14th March 2010.

Crystal Palace's The Mick Jones Blog has been shortlisted in the following category:

Fleishman-Hillard Best Digital Content

In announcing the successful clubs, Football League Chairman, Lord Mawhinney, said: "The annual Football League Awards gives us the opportunity to recognise excellence both on and off the field. I congratulate all clubs who have made the shortlists for this year's event. The number and quality of entries has been outstanding."

Speaking to www.cpfc.co.uk when the news broke earlier today, Mick Jones told us of his delight at being nominated for the award:

"When I started out doing this blog it was something for Crystal Palace supporters. I wanted to give a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes at the club and highlight the hard work that is put in by our coaches, players and management.

"I also wanted to make it as honest as possible and not be concerned about discussing delicate issues because so much in football is hidden behind politics that a lot of the time fans don't get to see or hear the real side of things.

"The fact that is has proven to be so popular among Crystal Palace fans has made it so worthwhile, and for it to now be recognised by the Football League is just fantastic."

Expert judging panels were assembled for each category including representatives of the media, the sports industry and The Football League with the process of evaluating each entry taking place at Football League headquarters on 27th and 28th January.
