Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

Academy goalkeeper Charlie Mann has been named as February 2010 Apprentice of the Month by the League Football Education.

This was placed on the LFE website this week:

As a first year Apprentice, goalkeeper Charlie has been an instrumental part of the Youth team in between the sticks, featuring in all Academy matches as well as Reserves games.

Charlie has maintained progress with the educational elements of the Apprenticeship, undertaking additional units to complete the National Diploma and working ahead of schedule on the NVQ log book.

He has been an excellent Apprentice in all areas while operating in such a high pressure position as a young goalkeeper.

David Muir, Crystal Palace's Education and Welfare Officer, spoke to www.cpfc.co.uk today and told us he was delighted to see Charlie win the award

"Charlie has worked exceptionally hard since he has been with us both in his football work and his school work.

"He has quite rightly been rewarded for his efforts on the training ground with a place on the bench over the past few weeks, and this is his reward for the effort and commitment that he has shown to his education work."
