Crystal Palace Reserves were held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton Reserves in a behind closed doors Totesport.com Combination League match at the Beckenham Training Ground.
All the goal action happened in the second half as Jerry Nnamani and Kieron Cadogan cancelled out Jamie Smith's opener for the Seagulls before George Baker levelled things up six minutes from time.
Reserve team manager Ronnie Jepson this week had the benefit of recalling a series of experience reserve players with Kieron Cadogan, Hakeem Adelakun, Kieran Djilali and Wilfred Zaha returning to the starting XI.
The game opened with a flurry of chances for both sides as each tried to claim the early advantage.
Palace could have been two up within the opening three minutes as first Randall failed to control the ball when one on one - the ball bouncing off his shin and away for a goal kick - and then trialist Nick McCoy headed over the bar when unchallenged from a Djilali corner.
On five minutes Leon Redwood threatened with a low shot just wide of Charlie Mann's near post eight yards out, while a clever header from Cadogan put Zaha through and the striker forced a good save from Mitch Walker.
The better football throughout the game belonged to Brighton as their young side moved the ball quickly through their midfield and put together a string of one touch moves to good effect.
It almost paid off for them on 12 minutes when a flowing attacking move started by Jamie Smith was almost finished off by the impressive Barker, but Mann was equal to his effort and made the save.
On 26 minutes Djilali did brilliantly to skip past two defenders on the left and play the ball to Zaha in the box. The striker controlled it well and turned on a sixpence before firing into Walker's chest.
Zaha should have done better moments later when he was found with a cross to the back post. After managing to peel away from his marker he had more time than he thought, and instead of taking a touch he fired a first time volley into the ground, which took the sting out of his effort and Walker was able to make the save.
A minute from the break Brighton should have opened the scoring when Barker slipped through the Palace defence, plucked a long ball out of the air expertly before forcing Mann into a brilliant reaction save.
But they had the lead six minutes into the restart when Smith's shot from just inside beat Mann with the help of a deflection.
Palace responded almost immediately when, four minutes later, Jerry Nnamani bustled his way through a crowded box to flick home a corner from the left.
Five minutes later Brighton almost regained the lead when a piercing through ball over the top from Dean Cox played in Barker. The Seagulls striker rounded Mann but couldn't beat Palace's last defender who made the last ditch clearance on the line.
Cox then came close himself when he fired a stunning free kick from 25 yards out against the upright with Mann stranded.
But Palace completed the turnaround with 20 minutes to go with a very well worked goal.
Cadogan picked the ball up on the left and cut inside before playing it out wide to the substitute Joel Ledgister.
The winger squared up his marker before whipping in a low cross to Cadogan at the near post, and the forward clipped the ball across Walker and inside the far post.
The visitors thought they had restored parity five minutes later when Barker latched onto another clever through ball and calmly slipped the ball past Mann, but the linesman had flagged for offside just as he pulled the trigger.
Their equaliser did eventually arrive, and when it did there was more than a hint of offside about it.
Dean Cox, again the architect, fed Barker with a clever reverse ball that looked to be timed too late as the striker latched on to it, but the linesman this time kept his flagged down and the Seagulls' striker slipped the ball past Mann.
