Carle Given Bench Spot For Friendly

Posted on: Mon 24 May 2010

Midfielder Nick Carle was an unused substitute in Australia's 2-1 friendly win against New Zealand at the MCG.

The All Whites took a shock 16th minute lead through Middlesbrough striker Chris Killen, but they were pegged back on 57 minutes when Dario Vidosic levelled things up for the Socceroos.

Brett Holman then completed the turnaround in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time when he scored with the last kick of the game.

Today's (Monday) friendly was the first of three matches Australia will play before the World Cup in June with fixtures against Denmark (June 1st) and USA (June 5th) arranged.
