Crystal Palace played their second pre-season fixture in as many days as a young reserve side took on Sutton United last night.
The Ryman League outfit started the brighter side and were a goal to the good within the opening two minutes when the referee pointed to the spot.
Trialist keeper Lewis Price made a stunning point blank save from Sutton's Tom Dunford, only to see Liam Bridcutt clumsily down Craig Dundas as he attempted to steer the rebound home. Jerson Dos Santos calmly stepped up to the spot and duly put the ball past Price.
Second year Academy scholar Wilfred Zaha was a continual threat for the Eagles during the match and on the stroke of half-time he played a big part in teams equaliser.
Full back Matt Parsons won the ball on the right and ran upfield, before playing in Zaha whose fierce shot at the Sutton keeper was to hot to handle allowing Nathaniel Pinney to quickly pounce to score from six yards.
The home side would dominate the remaining the 45 minutes and were unlucky not to have scored through Sam Page when his headed shot from a set-piece cannoned off of the bar.
Just minutes after that chance Sutton did score when Tom Davis slammed home a quickly taken free kick whilst the Palace defence were still organising their wall.
In the closing stages of the match Davis could have made it three when a mazy run from his own half finished with a shot which forced Price to tip over the bar.
