Paddy McCarthy is "confident" that Palace can begin to turn their performances into positive results after seeing the Eagles claim three points from a possible 12 in their opening four league games.
Speaking to Palace Player ahead of Saturday's trip to Reading, the Eagles skipper admitted that while the players have had to settle into a new system, he has remained fully confident going into every game - and things are not set to change for the trip to the Madejski:
"I was expecting it not to happen overnight, but I have always been confident, and I still am confident going into every game," he told the club's official website.
"I said it before and after the Leicester game that we are more than match for any team in this league and that we fear nobody.
"We will go to Reading full of confidence, and then whatever team comes to our place, whether they have come down from the Premiership, we will be looking for the three points. I think that is the way you have to be in this division.
"We have got an honest group of players, a little bit of experience in there with the young lads, so it is going to take time to gel with the new system and the new style of football we are playing, but it will come together sooner or later."
McCarthy, who was forced off the field in Palace's last npower Championship fixture away at Scunthorpe with a stomach bug, also believes that the international break has come at a good time for the Eagles.
"Last week was a case of getting people back together because there were a lot of tired bodies and a lot of lads still suffering from the bug that was going around, and the injuries to Darren Ambrose and Wrighty and a few other people who were struggling with injuries - I know dannsy was carrying a knock as well
"So the international break has given us a chance to regroup and get everyone back to 100% fitness."
