Palace Crystals dancer Crystal Keating is a very promising cheerleader who is preparing for the International Cheerleading Championships in Nottingham later this month. However, it was not long ago when her hopes of participating in any form of physical activity were hanging in the balance.

Suffering from severe pains in her heel and ankle due to a foot complication, 13-year-old Crystal had to drop out of cheerleading with the Palace Crystals at Selhurst Park, and could not take part in her dancing and gymnastic classes.

Even to be able to walk without any pain was a stuggle for Crystal, let alone returning back into the cheerleading team. With re-occurring ankle injuries causing her agony, mum Karen was desperate to find a solution for her unhappy daughter.

Karen and Crystal decided to pay a visit to the Parish & Bell Clinic, Europe's leading specialist in foot pain. Their consultants are experts in prescribing orthotics, which are devices put inside your footwear to provide your foot with the most efficient and correct way for your foot to function.

Using pioneering technology, a specialist from the clinic diagnosed Crystal's foot problem and prescribed an orthotic designed for everyday use in her footwear.

The results have been remarkable, with the pain in Crystal's heel and ankle disappearing after only one month's use of the orthotic. She is now able to take part in even the most demanding stunts in the cheerleading team, including backflips and being thrown in the air, without any restriction.

Her mum Karen is amazed at how quickly her daughter's injury problems have disappeared, and genuinely believes if it was not for Parish & Bell her daughter would never have been able to return to being such an active girl.

Crystal is preparing to travel the world with her cheerleading team; next year she will be in America and will be cheerleading for the US Crystal Palace team! With a very bright future ahead of her, Crystal also now intends to train as a cheerleading coach and inspire a new crowd to take part in the sport.
