Clubs: Yeovil Town, Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, Barnet
Versatile midfielder Alan Pardew was another of Steve Coppell's terrific signings from non-league football. He made tremendous progress with the club and missed only one match of the club's extended 1988/89 promotion season, for which his drive, energy and cultured right foot proved an invaluable component.
During 1989/90 Alan was the club's joint third highest league scorer with six priceless goals, while it was he who notched Palace's extra-time winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final to secure the club's first final appearance. Alan earned he nickname 'Super-Al' because of his winning goal and it the moment that will always give him ever-lasting fame in the eyes of Eagles supporters.
