A first year professional at Selhurst Park, James has been with the club's Academy for a number of years and was rewarded with his first pro contract after an excellent campaign in 2006/07, for both the Under 18 and reserve side.
The deal for James to become a professional with the Eagles was agreed when he became a first year scholar two years prior and his performances since have shown that the faith was well invested in him with a number of clubs also keen to take him.
Hailing from Enfield in north London, James is a left sided winger with bags of skill and tricks to beat defenders and also the all-important ability to deliver fine crosses into the area as ammunition for the strikers.
He also has an eye for goal and this often results in spectacular strikes as was witnessed through the last season.
However, his chances of making a first team impact in 2007/08 were dealt a severe blow when he damaged a cruciate knee ligament in pre season.
