George Burley swooped to sign Southend midfielder Stuart O'Keefe on a free transfer on 18th August 2010.
A product of the Shrimper's academy set-up O'Keefe, 20, made his debut in November 2008 in a 2-0 FA Cup win against Telford, and then followed that up with his league debut the following January against Leyton Orient. He went on to make 10 first team appearances in his time at Roots Hall
After his move to Selhurst Park, first team chances were limited and O'Keefe made just one senior start at home to Preston North End along with three further substitute appearances.
