Young left-back Matthew Parsons broke into the first team in the 2010/11 season, making his debut as a substitute against Portsmouth in the Carling Cup. A full debut followed against Norwich in January 2011 and Parsons impressed enough to keep his place against Watford as Palace earned two credible draws.
A loan spell at Barnet followed in the second half of last season where Parsons made eight league appearances.
