Crystal Palace reserves took on Lewes reserves last night in a fairly one sided victory with the Eagles riding out 4-0 winners.
Nathaniel Pinney opened the proceedings with just 15 minutes played when he nodded home a Matt Parsons cross at the back post to give his team the lead.
For the rest of the half the Eagles dominated possession and would have gone in at half-time disappointed not to have converted that possession into more goals.
The second half saw the Eagles carry on where they left off and Pinney again found the net with just six minutes played. A ball into the box allowed the striker to spin and shoot and somehow the ball bobbled over the keeper into the back of the net.
Danny Maguire could have made it three 10 minutes later when he was fed the ball on the edge of the box but he lent back as he connected and could only watch it fly over the bar and into the stand.
Trialist Arnel Maga replaced Simon Thomas late into the second half and soon marked his appearance with a goal at a set-piece. Michael Abnett provided a deep corner to the back post where Maga who was completely unmarked rose to head the ball into the left corner.
Alassane N'Diaye rounded off the performance with the game's fourth goal on the 84thminute when Parson crossed the ball back into the box after a cleared corner and the Frenchman smashed it straight into the roof of the net from eight yards.
