Aldershot Res.1-2 Crystal Palace Res.
The reserves side beat Aldershot in the penultimate Totesport.com Combination League match, with a 2-1 victory at the recreation ground.
Aldershot gave as good as they got in the first half with a young side of their own, but Palace took control in the 28th minute with a superb goal.
Jerry Nnamani passed the ball from deep in the Palace half out wide left to Keiran Djilali who cut inside from the flank and holding off the shadowing defender let fly with a swerving 25 yard shot that flew towards the top right corner, going in off the right hand post. Keiran Cadogan tried something similar with 8 minutes left in the first half as he moved from right wing to a central spot and still running, let fly with a left foot shot from the same distance that was just over the left hand post/bar angle.
Lee Hills shot across goal and goalkeeper from the left hand side of the box minutes later as he ran with the ball, but Palace secured the points with a 62nd minute finish from striker Nathan Pinney as he met Cadogan's curling right cross with an unmarked header into the back of the net.
The shots pulled one back with a header of their own with 3 minutes remaining but Palace have now virtually all but assured a 3rd place combination league finish, with one last game remaining next week.
Palace :- Thorp, Mtandari, Hills, Adelakun (Parsons 65), Nnamani, Holland, Cadogan (Goldsmith 79), N'Diaye, Kenlock (Roberts 65), Pinney, Djilali.
