Bert Howe

Date of birth

Bert Howe joined the club just after Christmas in 1958 and quickly showed his ability to fit into the Palace squad as a consistent, reliable and determined full-back.

Howe made his debut for Palace under manager George Smith in Division Four against York City in January, 1959.

After completing his national service at the beginning of the '60s, Howe returned to become a regular member of the team, making 101 consecutive appearances between October 1962 and December 1964.

Howe continued to represent the club in Division Two, after the promotion campaign of 63/64, until he departed at the start of 1967.
