Billy Turner took his place in the Palace side at the start of the 1925/26 season after the forward had joined the club the previous May.
It was to be the beginning of 11 seasons in the lineup for the Worcestershire-born player in which he became known for his versatility across the pitch.
Turner’s time in south London saw him finish with 37 goals to his name and having played in every single position for the Glaziers bar goalkeeper and centre-back.
