Clinton Morrison’s first appearance and goal came in the final match of the 1997/98 season, securing three points for the Eagles in a 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
Over the next three seasons, Morrison netted 41 times, which included strikes over the Premier League’s Leicester City, Sunderland and Liverpool in the famous 2000/01 League Cup run to the semi-final.
In the striker’s final season before departing for Birmingham City he found the back of the net 22 times. However, Morrison would go on to wear the Palace shirt again when he re-joined for a further three-year period in 2005.
Against Queens Park Rangers at Selhurst Park in November, 2007, Morrison joined an elite group of players: the 100-goal club.
Morrison was also recognised at international level, too, representing the Republic of Ireland on 36 occasions.
