Eric Young moved across south London in the summer of 1990 as the club acquired a strong commanding centre-back from Wimbledon and linked up once again with fellow defender Andy Thorn after being together at the Dons.
Young was soon part of the team that won the Zenith Data Systems trophy at Wembley in 1991 and finished third in the top-flight during that same campaign.
‘Ninja’, as Young was affectionately known due to his headband, achieved international recognition with Wales late in his career and came close to qualifying for the World Cup as part of the 1994 Dragons squad.
