Joel Ward moved to south London in 2012 from his hometown club, Portsmouth, and was an immediate success, with the defender playing a major role in the Eagles achieving promotion in the 2012/13 season via the play-offs.

Following the club’s return to the Premier League he was a regular in the side and missed just 11 games over the next four seasons, making an FA Cup final appearance in 2016.

Ward currently holds the record for the most Premier League appearances by a Crystal Palace player, making his 100th at that level against Arsenal in April, 2016.
