Crystal Palace Under-18s held Sheffield United to a point on Saturday afternoon after the Blades' Jake Kelly scored an unfortunate own goal.
The game was an even affair with both sides enjoying good chances, though Palace were forced to weather the home side's storms on various occasions.
United opened the scoring through Sammy Ompreon, who reacted fastest to a smart save from Jacob Russell to head home the rebound. Threatening Palace with another header, Sam Ackroyd then saw an effort cleared off the line however it was the Eagles who would score next as Kelly attempted to intercept a loose ball and ended up sending his own net bulging.
Nearer the end of the game, Palace had the best chance to score when Joshua Ajayi struck wide of goal after a spell of desperate defending from Sheffield.
At the end of 90 minutes, their efforts meant both sides ended the afternoon a point better off.
Palace are now unbeaten in three matches and sit fifth in the league table. They will look to further their points total tomorrow in a clash with Colchester United.
