Kids A Quid On Community Day

15 August 2012

Come Along On Opening Day

Crystal Palace FC will be hosting an Olympic-themed Community Day in our opening fixture of the season to celebrate the success of London 2012.

Our match against Watford on Saturday August 18th, kick-off 3.00pm, comes just six days after the closing ceremony of this year's Games.

Marketing manager Sharon Lacey said, “The Community Day is all about bringing people together and letting supporters know, whatever their age, we will have something for them on the day."

The interactive area of the car park will be showcasing what local sports clubs have to offer kids of all ages from 1.00pm.

There will be many opportunities to join in on tasters for sports such as korfball, volleyball, archery, badminton, martial arts, hockey, climbing, lacrosse, football and dance.

There will also be workshop classes where you can design a new CPFC badge, visit our mobile Apple classroom, learn how to face paint and even have a go at DJing.

You can meet our CPFC Foundation coaches who can give you advice on how you can improve your game, have a go at our fastest shot competition, win some prizes and could even meet a couple of our players! A real chance to come along and learn skills and drills with our very own Foundation team of coaches.

CPFC will be giving freebies away in the interactive area including posters, wristbands and t-shirts. You can also meet the Crystals, Pete and Alice and some of their special friends.

You will be delighted to read that all the above games, samples and activities will be available free of charge so everyone come down and make opening day of 2012/13 a massive success.

English soprano Joanne Appleby will be returning by popular demand to perform another great set before the match and at half time .

We do need some help though. CPFC are looking for a lucky boy or girl under the age of 16 to help out with the half time announcements. The lucky applicant will have the chance to announce the birthdays and messages on the pitch during the half time interval.

To enter please email, detailing in no more than 80 words why you should have the opportunity of addressing the Selhurst Park faithful. We will then get back in touch if you are the lucky winner. Good Luck...

It is set to be a great day and of course all under 18s can come in for just £1 providing an adult ticket is purchased at the same time.
