The club are pleased to announce the introduction of three extremely rare and special beers at Saturday's opening home game of the season against Watford, kick-off 3pm.

Two of these fantastic beers are just like our goodselves -  South London and Proud.

Two Palace fans, Simon Dale and Mark Russell have recently set up The Cronx brewery. This is the first commercial brewery in Croydon for over 50 years (since the closure of Page and Overton’s in 1954). They will be brewing a hoppy blonde ale especially for this match which will be available on draught.

This beer is made using Cascade hops which gives a floral and peachy aroma and a light, lingering bitterness at the end. The use of American yeast and relatively low fermentation temperature gives this beer a clean, crisp taste. At 3.9% it's an ideal beer for match-days. If this Croydon beer proves to be as popular as we are expecting we are hoping that the Cronx will brew it again and we will give it a season ticket to Selhurst Park.

Simon and Mark will be launching their new beer from 12.30 in Glaziers Bar on Saturday with CPFC co-owner Stephen Browett.

Also making its home debut (and the first ever appearance in a football stadium) is the already legendary (amongst beer aficionados) Kernel Brewery Pale Ale. This is one of South London’s newest craft breweries and their beers have been taking the beer world by storm. The Kernel was recently voted “Brewery of the Year” by The British Guild of Beer Writers and was runner up in the Observer Food magazine’s best producer of the year. Their beers are so popular that they are normally only sold for 6 hours a few week from the brewery door or from specialist retailers and a handful of selected pubs. We will be offering a 5.2% alcohol Pale Ale in 500ml bottles which is brewed with Cascade Hops imported from Oregon. This beer has an intense flavour of grapefruit and lemon with fresh acidity, pithiness and bitterness. There are lemony flavours on the finish, rounded out by big floral notes. Clean and crisp. This is one of the world’s greatest beers and we’re delighted to have been able to persuade the brewery to supply us with a precious allocation.

We will also have new supplies of our hugely popular Palace Ale which is brewed exclusively for us by Palace fan and actor Neil Morrissey.  He will be at the stadium and visiting the bars pre-match to meet the supporters as you enjoy a pre-match drink.
