The 2012 Christmas Sporting Dinners were hailed this week as the best in recent years, TALKSPORT’s Breakfast duo Alan Brazil and Ronnie Irani entertained the assembled guests over two superb nights at the Croydon Hilton.
Close to 500 people attended the two events – with all fundraising towards the CPFC Youth Academy – over Wednesday and Thursday this week, as the two sporting legends entertained the audience with some hilarious anecdotes from their illustrious sporting careers.
They were joined on stage by Club Captain Paddy McCarthy and Peter Ramage on Wednesday, and by manager Ian Holloway and his assistant Keith Millen last night.
As ever both events were hosted by Palace fan and compere Barry Williams, and one of the funniest comedians on the circuit today, Adger Brown, who had the audience in stitches with his unique style of comedy.
“I am delighted that these two events have been a massive success for the club” said Chief Executive Phil Alexander last night. “The Christmas Sporting Dinner events are vital fundraisers for the Palace Youth Academy.
"Next year could be an exciting one for everyone connected with Palace, so the support from our friends in business and within the football industry is much appreciated."
The Club would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Adrian Hollands and guests at Baker Tilley as well as Kevin Ibrahim and guests at Europa Quality Print who were generous sponsors for the two nights.
For the next Sporting Dinner event – on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 - at the Hilton in Croydon, we welcome former Danish international and Liverpool legend Jan Molby to South London, who has very quickly gained a reputation of being one of the funniest after dinner speakers around, with his own brand of ‘Scandinavian Scouse’ anecdotes. Tables for 10 people are just £750 + vat and include a superb three-course meal, raffles, auctions, comedy and vital fundraising for the Academy.
