"The performance was fantastic. The result was disappointing but the performances levels were great. We've played against a team here tonight that I believe will be in the shake-up at the end of the season. They've got a lot of new players, a lot of top players, spent a lot of money and we've given them a right good game tonight. I thought we passed them off the pitch with her fast half and the second half we were strong mentally.
"When you've got top strikers on the pitch you've got to be switched on for the whole 90 minutes. We weren't but I just felt that we were a little bit naive when we went down to ten men. We have done bits of work on that but maybe we need to do more and play a different way when the opposition go down to ten men. We attacked them and the game opened up but we couldn't get that second goal."
Freedman called for belief around the club as he young side continues to develop.
"Performances have been good, I just feel we need a little more belief around the place. Tonight there were maybe certain feelings that Forest would come here and win the game, that's not the case and I just need everyone to believe in us a little bit more. We are a good team, a strong team. We can get better, of course we can but I thought tonight we showed our capabilities of how good we can be. One or two bits of quality at the top end would have won us that game tonight."
Kagisho Dikgacoi went off injured and Freedman gave an update on his situation. As well as giving his thoughts on the addition of Danny Gabbidon.
"It was concussion. The problem is he's a hugely influential and was sweeping up a lot of things and spreading the play out wide tonight. He's away at hospital right now so I'll need a couple of days to see if he's a doubt for Saturday.
"Danny signed today. We need experience around this place, there are a lot of games in this division and they come thick and fast. A lot of squad's seem to be getting stronger and we feel the Gabbidon deal is a good one for us. He's an experienced player and he's been fantastic in training the last couple of weeks. He's maybe another ten days away from being fully fit but he brings experience that we can use.
