Dean Moxey has had a scan today on the hamstring injury that forced him off during the first half of Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win over Cardiff City.
The Eagles were already a goal to the good when the full back hobbled off after 25 minutes, to be replaced by Adrian Mariappa.
Moxey had been one of three ever-presents until then for Palace this season, alongside number one Julian Speroni and captain Mile Jedinak.
Now the 27-year-old is focused on getting fit and regaining his place in the starting eleven, but isn’t sure whether he will be fit to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
He told cpfc.co.uk: “I’ve had a scan this morning so it’s just about waiting for the results now.
“Obviously, Chelsea is one of the games you look forward to at the start of the season, so I just want to be back.
“Up until I came off on Saturday, I’d played every second of every game, so it’s disappointing to pick up an injury at this stage of the season, over Christmas when we’ve got a busy period.
“But that’s football, I’ve got to get on with it and get fit again.”
Whether he is fit again or not for the trip to west London, Moxey feels the squad will take plenty of confidence into that game after a commanding performance against the Bluebirds at the weekend.
“From start to finish I think we dominated the game,” he said.
“We could have scored a few more goals as well. I think the boys are slowly getting used to what the manager wants and it’s turning round.”
