Preview: Burnley

11 January 2013

It's been all change for both Palace and Burnley since the sides met in October, when Dougie Freedman and Eddie Howe prowled the technical areas during the Eagles' thrilling 4-3 win. Now Ian Holloway takes his side to Turf Moor where he will face off against Sean Dyche who replaced Howe later that month.

The Clarets currently sit in 12th position in the table but have only won two of their previous eight games, however there are signs of a revival in Lancashire as both of those wins have come on Boxing Day and New Years Day against Derby and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Charlie Austin scored his 11th goal of the season against Palace at Selhurst and has added nine more to that tally since then, but has been struggling of late with a hamstring strain. His importance is shown by the fact he has has scored half of his side's league goals this season.

Crystal Palace: Owen Garvan has been ruled out for three months with a knee injury, and Joel Ward is also out with a groin problem. Kagisho Dikgacoi is at the Africa Cup of Nations but Aaron Wilbraham and Danny Gabbidon are in the squad after shrugging off knocks as well as new signing Alex Nimely.

Burnley: Brian Stock is suspended for the game after seeing red for two bookable offences against Barnsley despite claiming the referee booked him once by mistake. Martin Paterson and Chris McCann could return from injury but Austin won't be rushed back after breaking down eight minutes into his previous attempted comeback from a hamstring injury. Ben Mee misses out with a knee problem but Jamaican winger Dane Richards is in line for his league debut since arriving from Vancouver Whitecaps.

Referee: Gavin Ward
Assistants: Robert Merchant and Shaun Hudson
