Crystal Palace academy star Sullay Kaikai has been nominated for the League Football Education Goal of the Season award.
The 17-year-old attacker is in the running for the prize thanks to his superb solo goal against Liverpool, back in August.
After controlling a raking cross-field pass, Kaikai took on three Liverpool defenders before firing a right-footed shot past the keeper.
The memorable strike helped Palace claim a 3-3 draw in their first away match of the season – and now the goal could earn further recognition in the end of season contest.
Kaikai faces stiff competition for the award from eight other stunning goals scored at academy level during the 2012/13 campaign.
Alex Laing’s goal for Crawley Town against Portsmouth is the early front-runner for the gong, but voting is open until 2pm on Wednesday 29th May.
LFE Chief Executive, Alan Sykes said: “This competition is a great platform to showcase the talented young players that are currently being produced by Football League clubs across the land. It is hugely competitive and extremely popular with the players, clubs and general public.”
